A guide for new members

We want to help you to get the most out of this forum. Here are a few helpful pointers to get you started. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please do email us on [email protected].

How to get the most out of your forum

Do you have a question that we or someone else in the community might help to answer?

Would you like to talk to other people who have been in a similar situation?

Do you have a piece of advice that might help somebody else?

Do you have a story to share that might inspire others?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then this forum is here for you. As one of our first users, we’d love for you to jump in and start a conversation today!

What should I do first?

The first thing to do is sign up so that you have an account and can post questions or answers!

You can do this from the homepage – click the button that says “Login/Sign Up”.

Once you’ve done that, introduce yourself in the “New Member Introductions” thread.

This works best if you say who you are and a little summary of what you’re interested in. For example, if you’re looking to retrain or go part time – include that information so other members know!

I have a specific question: where can I post that?

There are various Forums with specific interests in mind.

For example, if your question or comment is around finding a job – you can go the the “Finding a job” forum to post that question. Likewise, if your question is around planning for your retirement – you can go to the “Preparing to retire” forum.

You can find the list of forums under “Discussions” on the homepage – on the right-hand side on your Desktop Computer

forums desktop

Or towards the bottom of the page on your Mobile.

Within each Forum, there are various Topics – and this is where the conversations happen!

If you see a topic that’s relevant to what you want to post, go ahead and post in there. If you don’t see one that’s relevant yet – you can create your own. Don’t be shy!
