Problem is when I burn it it produces CO2 if I leave it to rot it produces methane.

Not one kid where I grew up had a clue what central heating was and why would we? No clue whatsoever so it could only be the coal fire being moved somehow to the centre of the room.

When that turned out to be a disappointment to the playground he then told us they were having wall to wall carpet put in.

What’s that we wanted to know.

He replied he didn’t know.

We decided they must be loaded and were having carpet made to the size of the room so all the patterns and edgings would meet flush with the walls.

We probably didn’t use the word flush as that was probably alien to us back then at that age.

Show day came around what a disappointment again!

The carpet had no pattern and no edging.

It was stuck solid to the floor too and we couldn’t figure out how his mum was going to get it outside and on the washing line for a good beating.
