How do we keep body strength/muscle mass? Great to communicate

Yoga is one way…it really strengthens over time. It took me a few years to ‘understand’ it but it’s worth persevering and there is good stuff online which is free! I swim and walk a lot too…also free! Anything that uses your core is good.

That’s a great idea Sylvia. There should be specific sites for finding friends with no ulterior motive. I’d love a walking buddy that’s fun and adventurous and better at navigation than I am!! It doesn’t have to be male either…so yes, bring on the find a friend site!

Tricky one as I love so many bands….but…it’s gotta be The Beach Boys!! I grew up on them and saw them live several times. For me the greatest record of all time is one of theirs and that has to be God Only Knows….always takes me time travelling!

I’ve studied nutritional therapy and we over 60s do need to keep up the exercise for sure.
However, we need to eat protein, plant or carnivore, but it needs to be eaten across the day rather than lumped together in one meal…. often the evening! Can’t remember of the top of my head but sounds 70% off out daily protein intake should be eaten by the time we’ve lunched. Studies by British medical association show this to be essential together with the right exercise in rebuilding muscle mass which is what we continuously need to do. It’s interesting stuff.
Try quinoa and flaxseed pancakes with fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast or quinoa and rice flake porridge if you’re plant based and struggling for ideas. Vegetarian and meat eaters can have eggs, omlettes etc, and not forgetting baked beans!! Protein in those although better if you buy an organic no sugar variety.
Food for thought anyway … forgive the pun 🤣 -

To my younger self…I’d say…Don’t doubt yourself! When you know at the back of your mind/in your heart the right decision, don’t be influenced by those who try and sway you otherwise. It’s probably because they are slightly jealous (subconsciously) that they are stuck in a rut etc. Even now to an extent, I can be convinced of what I need to do and then someone puts the spanner in the works and I doubt myself. What is the matter with me!!!!

Good for you re motorcycling! Yes people are always surprised when I swap my everyday wellies for high heeled tango shoes!!
