I don’t know the full details but my friend was in the same situation and very wary about taking on a mortgage herself she went for a rent to buy instead. I think local authorities can advise on this scheme.

Today we said goodbye to our cat
Yogi61 21st May 2021 at 9:36 am
So sorry to hear this Kitty, I lost this little fur ball Rufus in 2017 and although I have ODIN now I still miss him so much I cried for days. I had to call my sons from the vet to see if they wanted to come and say goodbye. Its the worst. I cried for days. I wouldn’t leave him at the vet, I bought him home and buried him in a lovely basket wrapped in his favourite blanket and he rests there under a cherry tree. As you can see from his face, he was a real character obeyed when it suited him just adorable !
A neighbour said ‘it’s only a dog !’ came close to getting a slap !

What are we thinking, is it safe to travel abroad yet ?
Yogi61 21st May 2021 at 10:52 am
Im not convinced this Government , at one point they were telling us masks were not necessary now compulsory and I would probably fly out of Heathrow where they are mixing red list and green list passengers in the same terminal AND still allowing flights from India – ( I think its Cornwall or Jersey here I come !).

Irresponsible Dog Owners

Thanks adore my dog but he is banned from the bedroom . I live in South West London Twickenham so many horror stories especially Deers being attacked in Richmond Park – I’m seriously thinking of holding a free weekly class in the park to pass on what the trainer has taught me ! Definitely needed . I’d be dining it for the dogs tbh 🐾😂

Sadly your fear levels are justified an untrained dog can kill a child or seriously injure an adult or another dog this is why I cannot for the life of me comprehend these owners – had a pit pull heading straight for us aggressively – made eye contact with the owner asking him to call him off – guess what ? Couldn’t do it ! Told my dog to leave while I fought it off with water until the owner grabbed it – “ I said I hope you are prepared to pay vet bills if your dog attacks ? “ Attempted to claim his dog wanted to play – informed him he knew F All about dogs if he thought that was a playful approach- apparently the problem is the owners fear their precious pet will not get sufficient exercise on the lead – but most of them need to let them off before their arm is pulled out of its socket – no leash training. Also very snootily I informed him my dog is not here to entertain his. Last year I had several owners asking me to put my dog back on his leash – as they thought he was a German Shepherd that had been attacking dogs in our park. I then came across this dog – muzzled really aggressive elderly couple had no control over it at all – It was desperate to attack my dog – I reported it to the dog warden and after examination they decided it had to be destroyed. I now walk my dog from 5.00am and lunch time is not too bad – early evening is the worst so I tend to walk him around 10.00pm – on the positive side never have to ask a gang of youths to move out of our way ! 🐾😄

I’m am not talking about people who are walking their dog – a happy , playful harmless dog You are trying to train . You are right it takes months to train a dog and and an enormous amount of patience. Nor do I even expect other owners to train their dog to the level of mine I’ve only done so as he is a large and could of been a dangerous dog it takes an enormous amount of repetition and patience. You missed my point ! I’m talking about dogs who attack and frighten other park uses . The majority while not well trained are no problem or threat .

It does make me sad so many people and children have had bad experiences with dogs and as back of beyond said are genuinely scared of them . I’d never force my love of dogs on anyone but sad they are given such a bad reputation- There are no bad dogs just bad owners !

I’m not claiming to be dog owner of the year but it spoils our walks when I constantly have to be on my guard to protect him – even an hour into our walk deeper into the woods – a raging creature can suddenly appear frothing and showing teeth – I try not to get angry but sorry is no good when your dog has ripped my dogs ear off ! (Sorry I’m lying I do get angry 😡 😄)

I had a Cocker Spaniel before and it was my vet who recommended a trainer – he pointed out if there is a dog fight ever who is going to get the blame – and I’m only 5’2 and I don’t have the strength to battle with a 45kg dog 🐶 😊 love him to bits he looks out for me and I’m really protective of him .

When my boy was a puppy I said to one woman at the vet – it’s almost like having another child . She laughed and said don’t be ridiculous as I watched her later put her “designer Labradoodle puppy ‘ in the boot of her car – no light poor thing treated it more like a new handbag ! – a real nuisance the kids wanted it 🙄

Hi JCH
My Mum passed away 12 years ago, but it feels more precious to lay a wreath you have made yourself. Standing there telling her look Mum I made this ! It was so difficult in the early days as I drove from my home to Mum’s it used to be turn left at the lights to go to Mum’s house it is now right at the lights to go to the cemetery. -
