I’ve heard making your own is easy although I’ve not tried yet. White vinegar and bicarbonate
Would have to Google it though to see what the mix ratio is

You need 20% white vinegar for it to work effectively. Or Sodium Chlorite (very strong bleach) both very good but NOT where pets are or close to borders.

I use roundup on all weeds and found it very effective.

You, your hands and one of those slightly bladed hand tools designed for the job. Possibly one of those small-headed long-handled wire brushes.

Electric heat weed gun. Very easy to use. No extra expense of gas.

I use the short handle version to scrape weeds from between paving.
Hooe link works. -

Yeah, it’s effective. as it builds up in the soil, its not the best for general weedkilling, but for a patio, OK.

Table salt twice a year but try to make sure the weather will be fine for a couple of days as if it rains as it’s likely to bleed onto grass and kill it. I’ve noticed I don’t get many slugs either, salt is not their best friend!

Comfy kneeler, gardening gloves and any sharp bladed tool. Oh yes and a Bose speaker to play your favourite podcasts through during this arduous job.

Ooh how funny cos that’s what I’ve been doing this morning 😊, sat on Patio pulling up all the weeds, was dreading the job, but wasn’t so bad as sunny and with my dog beside me, I’ll definitely try the table salt next time though, thank you x x

I have a wire brush on a long handle as you brush it pulls the weeds out.
Then go along with weedkiller.it last quite a while.
Good luck. -

Trouble is using a bladed tool or wire brush is that your not killing off the root,a bit of rain and they are up again.
If you don’t want to use a weedkiller, try and get hold of natural salt (sodium chloride) mixed with water
Or getting small stoned rock salt and sweeping into the edges/gaps …each rainfall it releases the salt and at the same time filling the edges -

My hubby uses rock salt thats used on paths/roads in winter.

Thick bleach like Domestos is brilliant for tall weeds especially nettles.
A nettle patch is usually something you find when moving into somewhere new.
You put maybe half a teaspoon on the top tips in dry weather and after a few days they are gone and gone for good as it goes down to the roots. -

Salt and vinegar. No messing no mixing, just pour it in a sit back and watch the little buggers die!

I went to Wickes last week for some sand and i noticed there is some cement for paving that stops weeds growing through.
I use a wire brush it doesn’t stop them but it is effective. -

Glyphosate, the most well known trade name is Round Up. Apply it once a month from April to October. It doesn’t kill moss though.
I started a ground’s maintenance business in 2007 and I’ve tried everything over the years. Glyphosate is by far the best and easiest way to keep the weeds away. -
