I have just consulted my 1950’s cookbook:

White sliced bread, marg, fish paste.

Ham and coleslaw. Crusty white bread. Out

A nice crab sandwich on granary bread either from Whitby or that kiosk at Robin Hood’s Bay. Crisps may be put on the side of the plate but never in the sandwich. Upon my word, no😱

I have two

1. Tuna Mayo with red onion and capers.

2. Egg, cheese onion and tomato with salad cream

Crisps out but I don’t usually have them with a sandwich

Roast beef with raw onion and mustard.
