I became one for the first time last year. Definitely a lockdown baby. Saw him today for the first time since before Christmas due to Covid. Super cute 🥰

I am so lucky to have 6 awesome grandchildren. My first three were girls. Then 3 boys came along. All the loves of my life. All happy healthy children.
Wish I could retire and spend more time with them. Anyone else having trouble deciding to retire …..
-
Mad Ralph 9th January 2022 at 7:55 pm
I retired in 2018 at the age of 50. I have no income so I’m living a meagre life on my savings. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. 👍😎

Congratulations Brad, I’m sure you’re going to love being a grand parent.
I have 2 step children and they both have 2 girls each.
My daughter has 3 boys and 1 girl and my son and his partner are expecting at the end of this month! -
kernowboy2 9th January 2022 at 8:50 pm
I’ve got 5………3 boys and 2 girls…..ranging from 3 to 15. Sadly I havent seen them for more than two years because of covid. The youngest was just a baby the last time I saw him and now he is a little boy. Here’s hoping the Queensland borders become a little more civilised sometime soon.
-
Brad_66 9th January 2022 at 9:03 pm
Oh that’s terrible. Fingers crossed for you 🤞
-
kernowboy2 9th January 2022 at 9:17 pm
Thanks Brad supposely when QLD hits 90% vaccination the borders open and quarantine goes. They were on 87.8% yesterday but the last % are just crawling to the finish line

Me with my stepdaughter her three children and my stepdog Brian I’m a bit concerned that my eldest granddaughter looks taller than me! Think she was standing on a slope….

7 grandchildren from 30 years down to 1 year, and 2 great-grandchildren of 4 and 2. To be absolutely correct there are some steps and halves but we don’t bother with that, they’re all part of the one family.

Trampus 10th January 2022 at 9:34 am
I have 9 grandchildren. We had all boys until last July my youngest daughter who had decided not to find out the sex of her last baby suddenly produced a “princess”. Going by the name of Molly she is going to be spoilt. Most of them live a fair distance. Somerset, Derby etc but these three live about 15 minutes drive away and we see them often. Love them all to bits, each and everyone. Oldest is now 16 and youngest 6 months. We love gatherings and BBQ’s, here’s one from a couple of years ago.

Brad_66 10th January 2022 at 1:50 pm
2 of each. Do you see them much Sandyg?
-
Sandyg 10th January 2022 at 2:26 pm
The girls live in Bristol So I can see them fairly often, but the boys are in Ireland, Co Wicklow., so during lockdown I didn’t see them between Jan 20 til end July 21., So missed the baby growing into a 2 1/2 year old ..thank goodness for WhatsApp videocalls !
The cousins were only able to meet again when the family came over
for New Year.- that was so lovely , the 1st time I’d seem them altogether for almost 2 years.

Mago 23rd January 2022 at 9:54 pm
We are in our mid 60’s, retired & have 4 grandchildren!
Our eldest daughter has 3 children including our eldest grandson is 18 & works full-time now. The younger grandson is 16 & doing his A levels & her daughter who turned 11 over Christmas.
Tragically, our younger daughter passed nearly 4 years ago after a long & brave battle against a particularly aggressive cancer (NMC)
Sadly whilst she was brave & looked into every opportunity to find tests trial etc; she never lived to see her baby’s 1st birthday.
We have the privilege of looking after her baby girl & supporting her Father 2-3 days a week.
I’m not sure how we would cope without the time we spend with our youngest granddaughter & other grandchildren.
She is so much like her Mummy & keeps us sane & focussed. We look after 2-3 days & nights a week to support her father.

Hi Mago. I’m so very sorry to hear about your youngest daughter. I’m glad you get comfort through helping to raise her little daughter. What fabulous grandparents.

Mago I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter such a sad story but sounds as if you are doing a wonderful job helping to raise her daughter and finding comfort in doing so
