I did a book club review on this recently. In essence its a collection of old pieces, some of which have made it into various recent successful books, a lot haven’t. There is no denying, he is a versatile and (now) hugely successful author.
If you’re a fan or a writer, its interesting to see how his craft and technique has developed over time from his younger days. A lot of his early work is pretty juvenile though. If you are not a Gaiman enthusiast, you might be forgiven for taking the view that this collection was forced by his publishers seeking to cash in on his current fame and reputation.
