Weight gain does hrt make this worse

Should hrt stop the hormonal heacaches.
Why do I still get hot flushes and sweat before a period whilst on hrt.

Are you ever too old to start HRT and does it help to strengthen bones?

Hi I’m new to HRT and whilst I’m overall pleased with it. I didn’t know I needed it until I was on it! The only thing that gets me down is the ‘periods’ again, as I get all the symptoms. Is it something we just have to put up with, or have the coil inserted?

Both before and after radical hysterectomy in February , I experience a week to 10 days of crushing misery where I am unemployable and unliveable with. I start off craving sweets, have 3 or 4 moments when I am scared I’m going to die (as in aware of my own mortality, not suicidal), get very pedantic in conversations, argue, have fits of weeping and so little energy that nothing much household apart from eating, washing gets done. Then I wake up one day feeling great and turn into a normal (ish) functioning human being, whilst those around me are traumatised. Both GP and consultant see it as underlying depression creeping through, though having had depression on and off for years, it doesn’t feel the same. Both before and after surgery (which was a preventative for ovarian cancer) , I was prescribed HRT. It didn’t cure this ‘crash’ before surgery. Can you explain why the doctors think it will now, and if it doesn’t, are they correct in saying HRT is the only solution? I’ve been on 25mg patches of Estradot for 3 months (didn’t help) and am now on 50mg – too soon to tell. I can’t use herbal meds due to a liver condition.

I have a history of blood clots, DVT and Subarachnoid haemorrhage does this mean that HRT would not be suitable for me?

I have taken HRT since I was 42. Just over a year ago I had a hysterectomy due to having large fibroids I was 71. I hadn’t stopped taking my HRT other than over the period of having my operation. I have recently restarted HRT in a medium dose. That was too much so have been cutting the patches in half snd will go to a low dose when I’ve used them up. I feel better from the point of view of sleep and bone pain. I have the most horrendous constipation where I have had to be taken into hospital when it got really bad. I struggle to keep regular. I wondered if the constipation was a feature of HRT. I have been constipated for most of my adult life but it is far worse now.

Can you get another marina coil put in after 4 years or is that it?
Does taking oestrogen (gel) help with things like muscle pain, moods and generally feeling unwell. Iv read so much negativity around it , it scares me to start taking it.
