Hi both, so sorry to hear that you are finding it hard to find a job.  You have come to the right place for support and resources.  Have you had a chance to look around the main Rest Less site?  If not, please head to the homepage – http://www.restless.co.uk – and type in your postcode or hometown to find jobs in your local area.  All the employers on our site are committed to age diversity in some way so you will not be discounted from the roles that you apply for as a result of your age (it is illegal for companies to do this but the sad truth is that we know that this happens to many of our members).

If you are able to spend a bit more time on the site, you might also find the section on job ideas a good read: https://restless.co.uk/career-advice/job-ideas/ – it has plenty of new and fresh ideas that you might not have thought of.

Wishing you all the best in your job hunt.

I’ve worked all my life since I was 14, got made redundant in Nov 2019 and because I’m now 62 heading for 63 this year, I’ve been thrown unto the scrapheap with all the other older workers, who no fault of our own made the retirement age go up, so now we can’t retire when we thought we could, we got to find work of some description

        Hi Elizabeth

What kind of jobs did you used to do? What are you looking for at the moment?

It’s a horrid situation to be in and I’d like to find out where you are looking for jobs at the moment?

        Thanks, Susan
