My Soul is Fed by Needle and Thread
I have my great aunt’s genes for needlework, grandma’s for crochet and a few more for knitting. This is a scissor keeper I made for a friend’s January birthday – she is a needlewoman too. The birth flower for January is a carnation and the gem stone is garnet, so the reverse is a variety of stitches in reds and pinks. The cord is made out of a number of threads, and the sixpence is 1962. It’s stitched on canvas in embroidery floss – also a way good way to use up my ‘legacy’ threads.
