Musical guilty pleasure?

Mine is “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.

It is such a simple song in so many ways, written by a very young woman (I think she was about 17 and wrote the whole thing in 20 minutes on her bedroom floor).

Perfect pop/country. Youthful, optimistic, upbeat, unapologetic.

I know Swifty is not for my generation but I completely love her. She conforms for no-one and bosses her life. My daughter also really admires her (the correct generation!!!!).

I don’t get on with lyrics, most of them are far to cryptic and I may as well be listening to Chinese, I have no idea of the point they’re trying to get across. Poetry is the same, if it’s not spelled out clearly I just don’t get it. (I often wonder if I’m on the autistic spectrum)
Now play me a rave tune with a fat baseline and some uplifting piano and I’m all over it. 🕺💃

Mine would have to be a Barry Manilow song… Can’t Smile Without You. Just think it’s clever what he does in that song 🙂

Why is it a guilty pleasure? Makes it sound like that bar of chocolate that is calling me from the fridge.
Surely music is a pleasure we can enjoy without guilt?

I’m not sure what don’t is my absolute favourite, I would have to think.
