I remember waving my hands in front of double clear doors at a school and the receptionist shouting… “push” ……. felt like a right numpty!

It’s like when approach double doors and one side is locked and you get in on the fourth attempt. Push and pull locked door – push open door, but you should pull. Feel like a chump!

In a hotel in France I said I’d like to take my drink into the garden, unbeknown to me a waiter heard me and opened the sliding door. I turned, went to the door, closed it and walked straight into it – result one bruised head, one cut hand from the broken glass I was carrying, one very red face and one door remaining firmly closed. That was 30 years ago and I still haven’t been allowed to forget it!
