Italian language conversation

I am looking for somebody who can chat in Italian. I need to improve my fluency and it may be a while before I can return; if I can return. The combination of Covid and Brexit is a real passion-killer!

Is there anyone who can help out and who would enjoy a little conversazione?! I live in Chichester …

I’m not learning Italian but have previously used “Conversation Exchange” and similar organisations to find language exchange partners. During COVID this is no doubt done via WhatsApp etc. It works really well, (30-60min for each language. I have made very nice friends this way while improving my Spanish considerably!

Thank you so much for this … it looks great and I think you’re right … WhatsApp or Zoom or whatever will work. I’m looking forward to trying it … Ciao!

I speak and write fairly fluent Italian having studied it at degree level (long ago) and lived there for a while. Happy to have occasional Zoom/Skype etc chats in Italian if that would help you – I need some practice too and opportunities to speak it are limited.

Grazie mille … I have an awful feeling I’ve forgotten it all which is why I need to get working! Who knows, Italy may be possible by the end of the year. It will have to be next month for me now. Please let me know when suits … Ciao

Currently Friday afternoons are good for calls/chats, as are weekends. I may have other times too nearer the time. Just let me know nearer the time in March when you want to start. Ci sentiamo.

E’ come imparare ad andare in bicicletta, non si dimentica mai!
Il mese prossimo va benissimo, fatemi sapere la data e l’aggiungo nel mio diario.
Possiamo usare Skype, Zoom, Google, uno qualsiasi va bene per me.
          Ciao e a presto!

Hi Tuppence, I was married to an Italian and lived in Milan for over 25 years. If you like, I’d be happy to have chats in Italian. I used to do translations too.

I have been married to an Italian for 30 years and I’ve only just begun to learn the language . I am not yet ready to have a conversation but would love to try when I have more vocabulary. I have zoom lessons once a week to prepare for my exam to get a passport.

Hi Jane, I don’t really think I’m ready for conversation either but I feel I need to make a move! Are you still willing? Perhaps we can help each other with vocabulary etc.? Ciao, Tuppence

Ciao, sono Dalida, nata e cresciuta in Inghilterra ma ho visuto nel sud d’Italia per 19 anni. Parlo piu dialetto Calabrese, ma posso provare di fare conversazione con voi. Vivo in Bedfordshire.

      • Tuppence 20th July 2021 at 1:25 pm

Ciao Dalida, I’m going to translate your message to see if i got it right! You grew up in England but have lived in Southern Italia for 19 years. You speak Calabrian dialect but you can try and make conversation. You live in Bedfordshire. This is my problem … I can understand written and spoken Italian, but I can’t reply very well … if you’re willing to try, I am too! Gracie e ciao.

Hello Tuppence, I am Italian and I wouldn’t mind helping you improve your Italian language knowledge. I live in London so we would need to use zoom. Ciao

Hi Luisa, Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. Are you still willing to attempt conversation with me? I think I’ve forgotten everything I knew! Ciao
