I quite like mice and I think they are sweet in the right place but why do I scream blue murder when my cat brings one in alive. The catflap has to be locked to stop her coming in but she can go out through it. Her supply is endless from the fields.

The cat could it of been an owl 🦉 in a previous life, or got mental issues and thinks it’s an owl ? 🤔

Possibly, she even catches moles. Would you think that possible? She must sit by a mole hill waiting for it to surface.

My 2 are the same constantly bringing the outdoors in lol I absolutely dread baby rabbit season as I’m often greeted of a morning by the headless carcass of one on my hall floor 😱

Same here with rabbits and I am going to have to keep her in for a number of weeks as my wild but tamed pheasants are hatching some chicks

I don’t know how they eat around that bit that’s not good to eat and then leave it.

I had a similar problem with a bag of Maltesers, they loved the chocolate but not the middle bit.

Well yes but I can’t guarantee that she would be hungry, although they kill for fun.
The mice obviously used the sun-lounger as bedding for the new babies. I left it in the shed during the winter, ruined.

I had a great comedy moment when my cat brought in a mouse about ten years ago. I had a hit rate of about 50% of rescuing them whilst still alive; cat was facing me with a tail sticking out of her mouth, I was trying to lift her up and prise her jaws open – mouse dropped out and ran straight up the inside of my trouser leg. I was hopping about the room trying to undo my jeans and pull them down without the mouse being squashed and before it reached more delicate areas, all the time while the cat was jumping up trying to retrieve it.

I can just imagine the scene. You have never been quite the same since.

I have to admit, it was so ridiculous I couldn’t believe it was happening. Something to laugh about – afterwards.

If it had happened to me I would have suffered PTSD

I was certainly more wary from then on! I guess mice just shoot straight for the safest, darkest looking spot. And God can they move!

One of mine eats them either outside or in my kitchen. Whilst the other one brings everything in still alive I’ve had mice, birds, butterflies/moths, caterpillars and bees. She does eat spiders though 🤣

Yes they all have their different preferences.
My cat catches flies in flight. -

I was told that having a cat would keep mice away from your house, but all they do is bring them indoors and present the mice as gifts. Weird!!!!! 🤣

There you have it. That’s the truth of the matter. The last cat I had was a pedigree and he never caught anything wild in his life.

My cat used to leave them in the hall as a gift for me. Lost count of how many times I’ve stood on a dead mouse at 4am!
I did find a mouse head one morning, no idea what happened to the rest of it.-

No I didn’t, I still remember the feeling of a squishy mouse between my toes! You would think I’d learn my lesson after a while.
