Has everyone actually survived OK through this 18 months of Covid?

Being a Limited company director, I received no support, trying to keep afloat has not been easy! Thoughts? HFYS Stu :)>>>

I didn’t get a penny support as I’d only been self employed for a year. I came close to running out of savings, but the tide turned and my little business provided enough money for me to stay afloat. It was hard work… but I managed. Thank God.
I think that I was fortunate as I am my business and what I do for a living is highly specialised and sought after during the pandemic and more so now ( no I’m not a sex worker 🤣🤣).
So I guess that I’m one of the lucky ones.

Change the trend. I don’t know. Every time I think that Mr Johnson and his pals have plumed the depths, they go lower. I suppose if you run the country like a convivial boys club, that’s what you get.
I have friends who are Drs who are very very worried about this winter.
Don’t you think it odd that today they announced the licensing of a new anti viral, but in the times two weekends ago it was reported that the research on antivirals was in its infancy?
To be honest, I wish I’d moved to France when I had the chance…

I’m sorry you’ve had a tough time, it’s been tough all over the world for lots of people.
The government tried at least, they didn’t always get it right for people such as you.
But at least you haven’t kept on blaming them for your plight as a lot do.
I blame a lot of ignorant people for ignoring the rules, sending hate to those in the NHS, storming hospitals, those not wearing masks, those partying, putting others at risk, all the conspiracy theorists.
But then this isn’t a political platform for the left, and I’m fed up with those who use this site as one.
I’m going to complain about it to RL, as I’ve had enough of the vile comments against The Tories and anyone who doesn’t have a leftist ideal.

Exactly, it has and way worse for so many and still is and will continue to be that way… Politics, it’s life, just like Economics, it’s not B&W, but there is room for protest, just not ‘Hate speech” ‘Racism’ etc… This is about the over 50s being a community and helping and supporting, advice etc… but we do like to moan on occassion #frgivethem LOL Stu :)>>>

Your beloved Bobo and his mates have ignored the rules from day one and continue to do so loislane. Even today your illustrious leader thought it above him to wear a mask when pretending he cared about the NHS while visiting a hospital. While he should have been in parliament answering questions about his and his gang of crooks sleaze and corruption. According to the Tories they don’t need to wear masks in parliament because they know each other and reese smug claims you can’t catch covid off your friends. You support a gang of vile corrupt mercenaries who care about nothing other than money, Johnson and his entire cabinet have got blood on their hands and you need to open your eyes to the vile evil (spot the anagram) that you blindly offer your supprt to. I think we can safely guarantee you’re not a multi millionaire either, so you’re not actually qualified to vote Tory! They do not care about you!!

It’s about more than the current Government, it’s about previous too, it’s about support and community! It’s about US! We have the power to change it, lets not get into ‘Control mechanisms’ Social media and the like, but they play a huge part in crushing the power to ‘Protest’. After having literally zero help being one of the 3+ Million #excluded (I lost a couple of friends to suicide, they were even married, had support and furloughed etc… unlike me!), I was lucky enough to have savings, previous profit, which I had to use up to survive, also rent out my house and live as free as I could at Friends and family etc… I am divorced, I do have a partner, but we do not live together, so, trying to survive with no income, no support and on my wits has been a bit tough to say the least, I hear people say ‘Get a job’, LOL, try getting a job in my current arena, it’s laughable, 1000 job applications, 19 interviews, no offers. Trying to get client work in or freelance! I have tried it all! I don’t have the option of borrowing from friends, family, banks etc… I have asked my tenants to leave and I am moving back home in December and hoping things start to work, if not! Sell up? Who knows. Never in my 54 years on this planet have things been so hard to achieve. I was always one of those lucky types but that luck kinda went as Covid struck, but I do also feel that age plays a huge role in attaining work/jobs… I could go on… but I like to look at the postive, one thing it has taught me is less = more and being happy is the most important tool of all #peaceandlove Stu :)>>>

PS At least my kids are doing well at Uni and have a roof over their heads and are a great couple of talented human beings!

PPS What more could you want?

        You are a trooper!
And a string brave person. Your determination to survive is a testament.
I also hear that that less is more and that being grateful and appreciative is the key to a contented life.
Having said that, I loathe despise and detest our government.
I find it hard to understand why they continue to be popular.
I hate what they are turning our beautiful country in to.
The lack of social justice and compassion for the most in need fills me with grief.

For me, the disease passed pretty quickly, perhaps because I put the vaccine. The only thing that started with covid was abdominal pain because my illness worsened, which was even before I got infected with the virus. It is evident to me, so I pre-ordered the pills on https://www.niclosam.com/. The doctor prescribed them to me not only as a treatment but also to prevent the disease. I am sure that if I did not have a vaccine, everything would be much worse, and the disease would affect my body in some unknown way. So I am very skeptical about those people who are against the vaccine

Agreed, anything that is set-up is set-up to make £s, or £s for others. See the Tony Benn speech I mentioned, it’s all about ‘CONTROL’ S:)>>>

Also take into consideration the people who don’t believe that COVID actually exists, this includes health professionals, who dissuade people from having the vaccine and wearing masks.
Then the stupid people who wear a mask but it’s under the nose. People who think they are invincible, and I’ll survive if I get it. Most countries were unprepared for COVID, it’s something totally new. However I think Boris was concerned about the economy and when he opened everything up, he still could have kept social distancing in place and the wearing of masks indoors while ordering food, but once seated then obviously removing the mask. Businesses have suffered, with many never to reopen.
