My friend teaches Iberian Dancing in London, she also is one of the festival organizers for a dance festival in Camden called ‘Dance around the world’ they have a wonderful Latin American Evening with workshops and lots of spectator participation.

I’m Afraid the only dance I can do is The Grebo War Dance

I LOVE dancing!!!! Modern Jive, Rock and Roll, Swing, Argentine Tango, improvised dancing, fusion, mixture of more graceful ballet moves with Jive. Haven’t been to a partner dance though for over a year now. It all seems so different. Would have liked to have performed in some capacity but have never found a suitable partner.

I’m into Irish Set Dancing. Not as well known as other types of dancing but great fun and really energetic. Hoping to start dancing again in September and run a class as well in London. Zoom is great but not the same!

I’ve always loved dancing, and music, from freestyle boogying to ceroc and jazz dance. I taught creative music and dance at adult education for many years, and just loved the enjoyment that everyone got from moving to music. You see it in folk from toddlers to the elderly, music moves your soul!!

I would also like to learn to belly dance

Myself and my husband have been doing ballroom and sequence dancing for about 10 years. Took me many years to persuade him to try, but now we both love it. It has opened up a whole new social life, with regular social dances and weekends away. During lockdown practicing in our living room was difficult, but kept us going. Things are just starting to open up again in ‘dance bubbles’. I also do line dancing, but that has not started again yet, looking forward to getting back to it.

Helen that is wonderful! That is what it is all about. I have now found myself a place at a ballroom & LA studio near me that has opened up again and I love it.

Yes! I’m a avid vintage dance fan! Started classes in 2018 – Lindy Hop and partnered Charleston with Jiveswing.com dance school who mostly teach across Herts/Essex – best thing I ever did! Got me so fit and it’s such a great social scene too. Since then I’ve also learnt Rock n Roll jive and stared to learn lead role in swing too (there’s just never enough leads 🤷‍♀️🙄!). If anyone wants to join me for classes in Essex or is looking for a regular follow (or a beginner lead for Swing dancing) and fancies going together let me know – always happy to make new dance friends 😊.

My wife and I attended dance lessons at the U3A before the pandemic. We’re just waiting for it to restart.
I have danced Salsa and Tango before.
I feel it takes a while to get any good at dancing and a lot of it is leader lead so I have to keep thinking of the next move.
      It’s all very good though.

Woohoo, my Jive classes are starting back up next Tuesday and I started line dancing a couple of weeks ago, so pleased that it’s all starting to get back to normal.

I love tap dancing and my daughter and I went regularly to an adult class until the lockdown. Does anyone know of any evening tap classes? We both work full time so can only manage evenings. My husband and I also went to ballroom classes a few years back but work once more got in the way! Hope to persuade him to go back once retired 😀

About 10 years ago when I lived back up in Caterham I did a spell of learning 1940’s Jitterbug Jive (East Coast Swing). I always loved the music and even had a go at playing it on Tenor Sax many years ago (badly)!
There’s no dance classes here in West Wales like this that I have found and even if there were, covid has stopped a lot of these sort of activities. I wasn’t very good at it but I did enjoy it and made many friends. Surprising how fit you get too!

    • Mikemeister 18th September 2021 at 10:25 am

I would love to dance, but for whatever reason i just can’t. i can look like a fish out of water on dance floor. back in the day, its cost me many dates.lol. funny thing is tho i love the music and often tap my feet etc. i did go for ballroom style lessons once many years ago tho. think i should maybe take it up again. loved the waltz and quickstep. Even been to a salsa club along the thames by Temple station couple of times, couldn’t do it but loved the sounds etc.Think i need a very patient kind partner tbh..

    • Coast66 4th October 2021 at 8:05 am

Oh yes love to Salsa but stopped at lockdown, must get back to it, loved it.

    • ElliotB 16th October 2021 at 6:33 pm

Just do it if you don’t already! Started learning ballroom and latin dancing as an overweight 65 year old guy with a bad back and two left feet to please my wife – anything for a quiet life. Seven years on and dance medals on the shelf, still having lessons / classes, still loving it. Challenging, serious exercise, relaxing. It has kept us relatively sane even just dancing round in a circle in our living room during the pandemic. It has helped us weather so many difficulties. So much to learn, online materials, dance clubs, nice people. Best thing ever (apart from marrying her …. had to say that). The classes and dances that we go to have singles as well as partners.

Love modern freestyle dance. Wish there was something close to me. Nearest would be Brighton, but can be a bit if a trek after work.
