I used to do Astronomy but have fallen out of practise over the years. Any advise on how to get back in also I have a Nikon camera and would like to be able to use it better for photography (nature etc). Any advise? I’m in the New Forest area.

You may have already seen these but http://www.astronomyclubs.co.uk lists half a dozen or so astronomy clubs in Hampshire – one of these may be a worth a try.
Also, http://www.newforestcameraclub.co.uk looks like a friendly place to get some advice!

I don’t have any advice about cameras, but for a beginner stargazer, I have found this page extraordinarily helpful: https://www.schoolsobservatory.org/learn/astro/nightsky/maps/hz18 It is written for kids, but it’s about my level. I like the map they do of the horizon view tonight, it shows you exactly where to look for celestial bodies. (Apart from in the mirror!)
