Anyone

Really would like to live for ever? Surely that would leave no place for newborns? Only so much space? So many questions 🤔😁

I definitely wouldn’t want to live forever but I’d be very curious to see what the worlds like in say, 100 years. What’s been achieved over the last century has been staggering to say the least.

Living ‘forever’ (a very long time) is one thing, but having life / energy / vigour snatched away before you’re really had a chance to use it is another. Even allowing for accidents / disease etc our lifespans don’t really match what our minds could make use of. We’ve evolved 200yr minds but keep them in 60/70/80yr bodies.

You’re right about the newborns, though it’s a case where what’s good for the species (new ‘blood’ to move things on) isn’t so good for the individual. I don’t mind there being loads of newborns but wouldn’t be too happy if I have to go to make space for them. Whether that’s a factor in the UK birthrate dropping below 1.6 / couple last year I’m not sure but the end result is much the same.

I’d settle for good health until I’m 100 then a peaceful, painless death 😉😁

Not for me, quite content to enjoy my time while here and let life continue as intended. Like Ralph says it would be amazing to see how life/science etc evolve but then I suspect if we did live forever the inevitability would result in our own extinction as a species. Some would say that’s not a bad thing!

Has anyone seen this movie UPLOAD ? Would love to live forever like in “metaverse” — think it may be possible 50 years time — too late for some of us tho… (some very rich people are already paying to cryo companies to freeze them for decades….think it is in Switzerland) here is Upload movie link https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7826376/
