Yes, saw my doctor two weeks ago, receptionists are great here in Suffolk.

I have seen my GP twice in the last 10 months and been to 2 hospital appointments but have had telephone consultations too, depending on the circumstances the doctors time is easier to manage and its safer to do some appointments on the phone, the GP made the decision to see me when it was needed. I like the convenience of telephone calls so happy to continue in this way

I am a NP in a GP surgery. We have worked extremely hard through the pandemic either doing telephone calls , responding to e consults and seeing people face to face when necessary. As regards to the receptionist they have an extremely difficult job. When you feel they are putting up a barrier for you seeing a Dr they are NOT, they are working to the rules laid down by the GP partners. On the computer screens the appointments are colour coded as too what can be booked into and by who. A receptionist CAN NOT book a face to face appointment only a DR or NP can. This is how my surgery works and I’m sure how a lot of other surgeries are working.

So maybe stop bashing the receptionist. It is not their fault.

I have spoken on phone and been into the practice in the last few months, I also got a scan done. I got a specialist appt for my grandson earlier in the year and my partner had a phone consultancy re heart ongoing heart problems. I think it depends on your area how populated etc we are in a small town and have had no problems. I also like the phone consultations and our surgery will see you if needed or prescribe from the phone call. We do the initial enquiry online and I think they triage them to see who is most urgent but always contact within 48 hours.

No, no way next appointment with GP is not until December so I’ve been told bad enough getting a telephone call or even the receptionist to actually answer the call to make the appointment.
I’ve had a repeat prescription put in over a week ago and have only just received it
Had completely run out of my meditation four days late And was really feeling the side-effects of this.
Got my booster jab appointment for November with flu jabs.

Hope everyone else gets this sorted as it’s going to be madness
